Kadem Al-Lamee
Chief Technology Officer
Dr Al-Lamee has extensive research and teaching experience with an MSc and PhD in Polymer Chemistry from the University of Liverpool, UK. He has over 40 years of experience in Biomaterials and Medical Devices. Prior to setting up Arterius, he was a co-founder of PolyBioMed Ltd in 1996, serving as Technical Director before becoming Managing Director in 2001 after PolyBioMed was acquired by Lombard Medical Technologies plc. Kadem is a member of the Board of Directors.
Gerard Harper
Chief Financial Officer
Gerard joined Arterius in 2023 bringing a background in investment banking, venture capital, strategy and commercial development in healthcare companies. He has extensive experience in the Medical Devices sector, most recently through strategic planning and commercial development roles at Quanta Dialysis Technologies Ltd. Gerard is a member of the Board of Directors.

Operations Director
Nial has over 18 years’ industrial experience in development and commercialisation of innovative and advanced medical devices including biodegradable stents and coatings, and experience in performing preclinical and clinical first-in-man trials. He successfully managed Innovate UK funded development of ArterioSorb™ coronary BRS from feasibility to clinical.

Barry Clare
Chair
Barry joined the Board of Arterius in 2019. He is presently Deputy Chairman of the University of Manchester NHS Foundation Trust and is a pioneering business leader with extensive experience in the healthcare industry sector. He has held a number of top roles at leading international companies and has a proven track record in developing and implementing strategy in healthcare, retail, consumer products and financial services. Barry created Boots Healthcare International, the international “over the counter” consumer healthcare business of Boots Company plc, and through Barry’s leadership, the business became the fastest growing “over the counter” business in Europe. Following his career at Boots, Barry has been Chair of a number of successful, pioneering healthcare companies that have brought several ground-breaking innovations to the NHS. Barry’s portfolio of innovative healthcare solutions include, e-health business, diagnostic tests and medicine development.

Chris Meredith
Non-executive Director
Chris is currently Group Chief Executive Officer of Advanced Medical Solutions Group plc (AMS), a role he has held since 2011. He joined AMS as Group Commercial Director in July 2005 following a successful 18-year career in international healthcare sales, marketing, and business development. His experience prior to joining AMS covered business-to-business contract manufacturing, product development and clinical research, as well as branded product sales all within the medical device, pharmaceutical or consumer healthcare markets.
Peter Mason
Senior Independent non-executive Director
Peter joined the Board of Directors of Arterius in 2015. Peter is a Managing Director in Barclays’ Investment Banking Division and Co-Head of its EMEA Capital Markets team. He has over 24 years of investment banking experience largely focused on Financial Institution (FI) clients, and has advised on over $500bn of financing transactions in his career. Peter has a MEng in Engineering, Economics and Management from Oxford University, UK; a MBA from INSEAD, France; and is a member of the UK’s Association of Corporate Treasurers and the Worshipful Company of International Bankers.
Ludvik Uhan
Non-executive Director
Ludvik joined the Board of Directors of Arterius in 2017 to represent Novoline d.o.o investment. He is a Management Consultant with deep expertise in digital transformation and complex strategic programme delivery across multiple industry segments including aviation, telecoms and energy.
